The article presents a comparative analysis of the incidence and prevalence of the population of Ukraine with similar indicators of EU countries. Health care costs around $ 2270 per person in the EU, and $ 100 in Ukraine. In European countries, public requests are recorded in a single electronic medical system, which collects all patient information, so-called personalized data. WHO suggested that Ukraine move to the same collection of information to effectively monitor the health of the population with a view to comparing international and Ukrainian population health indicators. Ukraine, which is among the five largest countries in Europe, has seen an increase in overall mortality and a fall in fertility rates. The medical and demographic situation reflects the poor health of the Ukrainian population and is of concern to the WHO. Respiratory diseases, circulatory diseases are leading in the structure of morbidity, and therefore diseases of the circulatory system, malignancies, injuries and poisonings occupy the structure of causes of mortality. In many countries around the world, HIV and tuberculosis are the cause of disability and premature death of patients. According to the results of the study of mental pathology among the population of the countries of the world the level of prevalence of mental disorders of organic origin is increasing. Combating bad habits: alcoholism, drug addiction, smoking is an extremely acute problem for all European countries.
