Abstract

The textbook “Simulation Training: Forms and Methods of Practical Preparation” is dedicated to the integration of simulation-based methods into medical education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Simulation training is presented as a key strategy for mastering practical skills, clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork without risk to patients. The book explores the conceptual foundations and historical evolution of simulation in medicine, highlighting its advantages in reducing stress during first manipulations, ensuring patient safety, and providing opportunities for repeated practice in both routine and rare, life-threatening conditions. Special attention is given to the Simulation Training Center of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, which encompasses interdisciplinary training units, a dentistry training center, a functional diagnostics department, a virtual patient platform (Body Interact), surgical and emergency departments, and an OSCE center. The textbook is structured into four thematic blocks: (1) management of critical non-trauma patients and advanced life support; (2) obstetrics, gynecology, and neonatology; (3) trauma and combat casualty care; and (4) basic emergency care and medical triage. Each block provides detailed descriptions of mannequins and equipment, step-by-step algorithms, basic and advanced practical skills, clinical and virtual scenarios, and checklists for evaluation. This textbook is designed for medical students, interns, and healthcare professionals engaged in continuous professional development. It emphasizes competency-based education, standardization of assessment, and the use of innovative simulation technologies in alignment with national and international healthcare guidelines. By combining theory with practice, it aims to raise the quality of medical education, improve patient outcomes, and promote modern standards of emergency and clinical care.
