Structural features of the mental region of mandible which influence on healing of the fractures

Abstract

The specific ossification of the mental protuberance which is characteristic property of a human only, belongs to the features of development of a chin. Extraosseous blood supply of the mental region is performed by the sublingual arteries, while in some other animals these vessels supply only the tissues of oral cavity bottom, lower lip and intermaxillary fibrous tissue.
