Professional adaptation as a process that takes place at the stage of choosing a
certain specialty (preparatory stage), and at the stage of training in an educational
institution (qualification stage), and during the time of direct performance of
professional duties (production-conditioned stage), constitutes a purposeful systemic
reaction of the organism, which determines the active adaptation of the individual to
the conditions of vocationally oriented training, the new social environment and the
specifics of the labor process in a specific specialty and, as a result, is one of the main
criteria for the correct choice of the specialty that is learned, ensures high efficiency of
professional activity, is an important indicator of the degree of professional training [1,
2, 3, 3, 4, 5. 6. 7].
The purpose of the study was the development and scientific substantiation of
modern, effective and fully adequate to modern realities approaches to the assessment
and optimization of the processes of professional adaptation of student youth studying
dentistry.
During the research conducted on the basis of National Pirogov Memorial
Medical University, Vinnitsya, developed a method of complex point assessment of the
features of the course of professional adaptation and the formation of high professional
suitability of students studying dentistry in institutions of higher medical education,
which provides an opportunity based on the use of modern psychophysiological and
psychodiagnostic methods to assess the level of expression of leading professionally
significant psychophysiological functions and personalities traits for the main
specialties of the dental profile, to carry out a meaningful interpretation of the values
of psychophysiological and personal determinants of the professional suitability of students based on the application of specific quantitative criteria for their qualitative
assessment.
In addition, the proposed, tested and implemented extremely effective, based on
the data of physiological and hygienic assessment, which was carried out, a set of
measures to optimize professional training, psychohygienic correction of the course of
professional adaptation and prevent the occurrence of adverse changes in the
psychophysiological state of their organism and professional deformations of the
personality future dentists at the stage of training in a higher medical educational
institution
